3. Quiz & Learning Data

• Why we need it: To provide personalized feedback, track improvement, and power AI analysis
• When we collect it: During quiz activities and practice sessions

4. Subscription Information

• What we collect: Subscription status, subscription type
• Why we need it: To manage premium access and provide customer support
• When we collect it: When you subscribe to KangaQuiz Premium via iOS App Store

5. Website Resources & Emails

• What we collect: Parent's first name, email address, selected school year, requested resource, signup source and consent date
• Why we need it: To send the requested resource and occasional KangaQuiz emails about learning resources, products and services
• Email records: We may also keep delivery, bounce, complaint, unsubscribe and, where enabled, open or click information so we can operate and improve our emails
• Your choice: You can unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time using the link in any such email

Some service providers may process or store information outside Australia, including in the United States or other locations where they or their infrastructure operate. Their handling of information is governed by their own privacy policies and our service arrangements.

Data Retention & Security

How Long We Keep Your Data

• Account and learning information: Retained while your account is active and then deleted or de-identified when no longer reasonably required, subject to legal, security, backup and dispute-resolution needs
• Email subscriber information: Retained while you receive KangaQuiz emails. If you unsubscribe, we may keep a limited suppression record so we can honour your request
• AI analyses: Cached for 24 hours within KangaQuiz to reduce repeated processing, then removed from that cache
• Legal and operational records: Some subscription, transaction, security and support records may be retained for as long as reasonably required by law or legitimate business needs

Security Measures

• Encryption in transit is used when information is sent between your device, KangaQuiz and our service providers
• Secure authentication via Supabase Auth
• Access controls, including Row-Level Security on relevant database tables
• Monitoring and updates designed to protect against unauthorised access, loss or misuse

No online service can guarantee absolute security. If you believe your information may have been affected by a security issue, please contact us promptly.

Children's Privacy

KangaQuiz is designed for primary school students. We take extra care to protect children's privacy:

• KangaQuiz accounts and student profiles are intended to be created and managed by a parent, guardian or other authorised adult
• We collect only the student information needed to provide and improve the learning experience
• We do not use student profile or learning information to market directly to children
• Parents and guardians can access, correct or request deletion of their child's information
• Website resource and promotional emails are directed to the adult who submits the form

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. Significant changes will be:

• Posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date
• Communicated directly where the change is significant and it is appropriate to do so
